Milwaukee, June 30, 2025 — Marcus Corporation® and Variety – the Children’s Charity of Wisconsin are excited to bring movie history to Wisconsin! Golfers and guests at the 48th Annual Ben Marcus Variety Golf Classic, a premier two-day event uniting golf enthusiasts, movie fans, and community leaders to raise essential funds for Wisconsin children with physical and developmental special needs, will get the chance to “be” Marty or Doc and snap a photo next to the iconic DeLorean, time machine.
As both organizations celebrate their 90th anniversary, a time machine seemed appropriate as the roots of this partnership run deep! In 1935, Ben Marcus opened his first theatre in Ripon, Wisconsin, and became one of the founding members of the Milwaukee chapter of Variety – the Children’s Charity. The organization has since expanded its reach to serve children and families across the state. In 1977, Marcus Corporation launched the Ben Marcus Variety Golf Classic, honoring Ben’s legacy and deepening its commitment to improving the lives of Wisconsin’s kids through independence, mobility, and social inclusion.
Thanks to this event, children like Traeson—who now plays wheelchair basketball with the Mad City Wheelers—Morgan—whose Wonderfold Wagon helps reduce sensory overload—and Madison—who received an electric wheelchair to explore and socialize—are thriving with more freedom and joy.
